MCPA Dance Ensemble
The MCPA Dance Ensemble is the highest level of contemporary dance at MCPA. Participation is by invitation, and advanced students work towards achieving this goal when they enter high school.
Members must take a minimum of three ballet classes per week, as well as three contemporary classes including modern and jazz technique.
There are also two rehearsals per week to work on choreography. Each season, the Ensemble presents a varied repertoire in various concert and competition venues.
MCPA presents an annual concert in March, entitled "Move to Inspire", featuring the Ensemble members. They are joined by guests from local schools and college programs to present a benefit concert in a local theatre.
Members have the opportunity to work with many different choreographers each season, and learn the entire process of creating a piece to present in a concert setting.
MCPA presents cash scholarships to graduating seniors each season. Click here to see details about recent graduates.
